Change is constant. Only the rate varies. And in the vision care business, change is increasing at an increasing rate. The solution to this challenge is lifelong learning.
Sometimes this means formal education. Other times it means seminars and training. It always requires constant curiosity and engagement.
Employees of all Walman companies receive 100% educational reimbursement. There's even a college scholarship program for the children of employees - financed in half by an executive who wanted others to have the opportunity he didn't have.
We educate the eye care industry, too. Walman University is an accredited school on wheels for eyecare professionals. The curriculum includes new products, advanced techniques, and sound business practices. Each year professionals gain over 10,000 hours of continuing education certified by ABO, NCLE, JCAHPO, COPE, and other governing boards.
