The ProPlus Multifocal is an excellent choice for presbyopic patients whose refractive error is between -15.00D and +10.00D. However, patients who do not require any distance correction and do not feel the need to wear their correction on a full time basis may pose more of a challenge. However, most well motivated patients can be successful. The ProPlus Multifocal is most beneficial for the early presbyope whose near power add is between +1.00D and +2.00D and whose astigmatic correction is between 0.50 to 2.25 diopters of with-the-rule astigmatism.

ProPlus is a bi-aspheric multifocal GP lens that is easy to fit by using the patients corneal measurements and spectacle Rx. The center portion of the lens has low eccentricity that provides clear distance vision, while the adjacent mid peripheral area has a more rapid rate of flattening to provide near power. The ProPlus aspheric optics provide intermediate vision, making this design a great choice for patients who spend multiple hours on the computer.
